Aiden lowered his head to his chest and closed his eyes, blinking away the moisture. As he opened them, his eyes felt cool against the cold temperature. His eyes dried instantly. Taking a deep breath, he slowly let it out, specifically to watch the steam which appeared before him. The snow was cold that particular night, but not bitterly cold. Aiden always felt that fresh snow cleansed the earth. Most are to believe that it is rain that cleanses the earth, but rain falls too hard to do anyone an ounce of good. Sure the rain helps farmers to grow crops and feed mankind. Even rain was water, which Aiden often heard referred to as the nectar of life. But to Aiden, rain was too distasteful. Aiden could not feel one ounce of peace when rain fell. He found peace deep into his soul with the presence of snow. Snow was his serenity.

Slowly the starlight fell, only to stop when it rested serenely on the ground. At second glance, Aiden realized it wasn't starlight at all. The tiny lights were flakes of snow. He marveled at how bright the soft white flakes were, and how much they resembled little falling stars. The moon was responsible for such an allusion. The moon shown full overhead and Aiden couldn't help but stare it down. His eyes met the brightness of the moon and he could fill the light radiating a white glare in his own dark brown eyes. Aiden's eyes began to water, but not from the bright light illuminating from the round marble in the sky. There was a peculiar presence in Aiden's life that seemed to be emitting from the moon. But he could not explain it. All he knew was that, in his own life, the moon represented wonder, mystery, and intense emotion.
